On Saturday 31 May 2003 the first ever BDO Prague European Football Tournament took place. BDO teams came from all over Europe to take part in this spectacular event.

Taking part were teams from Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Hungary, Poland, Norway, Austria, Luxembourg, England and of course the Czech Republic.

In total around 160 players travelled to Prague by plane, car and coach to try to win the prestigious trophy. There were also large numbers of fans from several countries who came to support their teams.

The tournament was held at the Slavia Prague sports complex and kicked off at 9.00am. In the morning there were 4 groups of 4 teams each. Each team played the 3 other teams in its group.

The first and second placed teams in each group then qualified for the BDO Prague cup and the third and fourth placed teams played in the BDO Prague consolation cup.

• Group 1 comprised Germany , Ireland , Switzerland A and Czech B .
• Group 2 was made up of Italy , Switzerland B , Holland B and Poland .
• Group 3 contained England , Czech A , Switzerland C and Norway
• Group 4 was Holland A , Austria , Hungary and Luxembourg .

24 matches on 3 pitches – 8 matches per pitch 8 x 20 mins = 2hrs 40mins plus will be time lost between matches say 20 mins.

• 12.00 - 1.00 LUNCH

teams can go earlier if they have finished their group matches

• 1.00 - 2.30 QUARTER FINALS

8 matches on 3 pitches – 3 matches on 2 pitches and 2 matches on 1 pitch 3 x 30 mins = 1hr 30mins

• 2.45 – 3.45 SEMI FINALS

4 matches on 2 pitches – 2 matches on 2 pitches 2 x 30 mins = 1 hr

• 3.55 – 4.25 3RD AND 4TH PLACE PLAY OFFS

2 matches on 2 pitches – 1 match on 2 pitches 1 x 30 mins = 30 mins

• 4.30 – 5.00 BDO PRAGUE CONSOLATION CUP FINAL

1 match on 1 pitch – 30 mins
