In the Czech Republic the most popular sports played are Ice Hockey and Football. The IIHF World Championship is coming to the Czech Republic April 24 – May 9 2004. The preliminary round will feature France vs. Austria, Russian vs. Japan, Finland vs. USA, Sweden vs. Denmark and Germany vs. Czech Republic.

In the morning 2 groups of 4 teams each. Each team will play the 3 other teams in its group. The first and second placed teams in each group will qualify for the Prague cup and the third and fourth placed teams will play in the consolation cup.
